Pop LorePrivacy policy
In short: Pop Lore has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We don't run a server that receives your data, and we can't see what you read or search. Your library and settings stay on your phone.
Who we are
Pop Lore is an independent app published by Nishesh Jaiswal (“we”). If you have a question about this policy or your data, email protonguyemailuk@protonmail.ch.
What stays on your phone
The app saves the following on your device only. We never receive it.
- Your bookmarks and reading history (the article title, wiki, a short summary, its picture link and the time).
- Your last 30 searches.
- Your settings, such as theme, font, language and podcast voices.
- The first name you can optionally enter when you first open the app, and the avatar you pick. These are only used to greet you inside the app.
- Temporary copies of pictures, podcast scripts and podcast audio, so pages and episodes load faster.
- If you choose to download them, the on-device podcast voices (about 195 MB).
Like other app data, this may be included in your own iCloud or device backups, which Apple handles under its own privacy policy.
Services the app talks to
To show you wikis and make podcasts, the app connects directly to the services below. None of them receives your name, avatar, bookmarks, history or any account or advertising identifier from Pop Lore. As with any internet connection, each service can see your device's IP address and basic technical information such as the app's network requests.

These providers handle what they receive under their own privacy policies and terms. Some AI providers may keep or learn from the text sent to them; the app only ever sends them public wiki text. If you'd rather not use AI services at all, simply don't use the podcast feature. On-device voices, once downloaded, speak without contacting a voice service.
What we don't do
- No sign-in or account.
- No analytics, crash-reporting or advertising tools.
- No tracking across other apps or websites, and no advertising identifier.
- No access to your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
- We don't sell or share personal data, because we don't collect it.
Deleting your data
In the app, go to Profile and use “Clear all app data” to remove your bookmarks, history, searches and settings. To remove everything, including downloaded voices and cached pictures, delete the app from your iPhone.
Children
Pop Lore isn't intended for children. Wiki pages are written by fans, aren't filtered, and some cover mature themes.
This website
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It uses no cookies, analytics or third-party scripts. Cloudflare may process your IP address to deliver the pages and protect the service.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, such as access or deletion. Because Pop Lore keeps your data on your own device, you can view and delete it there at any time. If you have a concern, contact us at the email above. In the UK you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If the app starts handling data differently, we'll update this page and the date at the top before that change reaches you.
